Wendell Ford laid to rest

Vice President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton are expected to be in Owensboro today for former U.S. Senator and Kentucky Governor Wendell Ford's funeral. We will have live coverage this morning on Sunrise including information about street closings in the downtown area near First Baptist Church.

Blizzard '15

Forecasters are walking back their most dire predictions of a Northeast blizzard even as tens of millions of people hunkered down. Some substantial snow totals are still being forecast. Earlier, forecasters were talking about three feet and hurricane force winds. Thousands of flights have been canceled. Officials ordered workers to go home early, banned travel, closed bridges and tunnels, and assembled their biggest plowing crews.

Lingering snow

As for our area, nothing like what they're experiencing along the east coast, but some lingering snow and drizzle is causing a few problems on area roadways.  There are a few school delays as well.  Byron will have the 14 First Alert forecast.

Twin bridges work

Kentucky Transportation officials say southbound lanes of the Twin Bridges will be moved to the right hand lane starting around 8:30 this morning. We'll have the details.

And a mammoth asteroid buzzed by Earth in a fly-by Monday. Telescopes in Australia and other places can still catch a glimpse of the mountain-sized space rock.  We'll show it to you on Sunrise.

So enjoy your day, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
