OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Former U.S. Senator Wendell Ford was well-liked in western Kentucky and was a huge advocate for the community, state, and country.
Owensboro residents were shocked to learn about the passing of Ford. They say they appreciated his values.
Being bored and raised in Daviess County, residents say he knew what the people wanted. They were grateful Washington didn't change him.
"It kind of sunk my heart, he was a great man and our community had a lot of good with him and he did a lot of things for us, here in Owensboro, as well as our state, it's sad it's a loss, a definite loss," said resident Pam Nielson.
A lot of people respected the former senator and governor.
