Warrick County receives additional blight elimination funds

INDIANAPOLIS (WFIE) -

Warrick County is one of six in Indiana that are receiving additional funds to help eliminate blighted and abandoned homes in an effort to decrease foreclosures.

Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann made the announcement on Thursday.

Warrick County is being awarded $176,000 on top of the $1.1 million it had already received during the first round of funding.

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority estimates about 4,000 blighted and/or abandoned homes will be eliminated through the Blight Elimination Program.
