Cary man found in homeless shelter after 8-day search

Police say a suburban Chicago man has been found in a homeless shelter after going missing for more than a week.

The Cary Police Department says in a news release that 21-year-old Kyle Cuchna of Cary was found Saturday at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauconda. Police say he was in good health and with family.

Cuchna went missing Jan. 10. Since then family and friends were distributing fliers and searching for him. Tina Leigh of Wauconda was passing out those fliers at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when she found Cuchna at the church in northwest suburban Chicago.

Cuchna's father, Paul Cuchna, says now he has "tears of joy" and calls his family "lucky."
