Patient calls 911 from an ambulance

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A patient made a strange phone call on his way to a hospital in Evansville.

While in the back of an ambulance, he called 911 on Monday to complain the ambulance wasn't going fast enough.

Police say traffic was slowing down the ambulance.  Here's part of that call:

"Caller: Ma'am they are going very slow, they're going so slow. I want to get there quickly."

Dispatcher: "Sir....Sir....Sir..."

Caller: " Yes, ma'am."

Dispatcher: " You're in the back of an ambulance"?

Caller: " Yes ma'am."

Dispatcher: " Sir can you hear me?"

Caller: " Yes ma'am."

Dispatcher: " I have nothing to do with the ambulance service, I'm going to connect you with them so you can tell them to tell the driver to go faster, stay on the phone."

The patient was being taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains.
