Pilot hurt when small plane crashes in E. Indiana

SELMA, IN -

A single-engine plane has crashed in eastern Indiana, injuring its pilot.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office says the plane crashed in a wooded area near the town of Selma, about 55 miles northeast of Indianapolis, after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Officers say the pilot was the only person aboard and was conscious and alert when transported to a hospital by emergency crews.

Officials say the extent of the pilot's injuries was not immediately clear.
