Noon Year's Eve in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Some kids and parents in Owensboro rang in 2015 a little early this year.

More than 600 kids gathered at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History on Wednesday to ring in the new year at noon.

Organizers say the event allows families to celebrate the new year together, but still allows the little ones to get to bed early.

Kids created noise makers, danced, and watched some neat science experiments.

"My favorite part (...) my favorite part was probably when he put the ball in the nitrogen and threw it on the ground and it shattered," said Noah Norris.

Organizers say the Noon Years Celebration has become a family tradition over the years.
