HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - The City of Henderson has announced its biggest project for 2015.
It's part of Henderson's 10 Year Vision Plan.
We learned last month that a sports complex and riverfront apartments are part of the plan.
We're now being told that there will also be a new convention center for the city.
City officials also say $7 million will be used to upgrade its 911 center.
"It's a great idea that the City of Henderson is prioritizing the emergency 911 center as important because we need our emergency services to be able to communicate effectively. With now being able to text, that will bring our community ahead, especially in the event of an emergency," said Nibby Priest, Henderson resident.
Community leaders are putting together a comprehensive plan and will be looking for input in the spring.
