Lower membership cost at YMCA of Southwestern Indiana

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Hoping to make its programs and services more accessible and affordable, the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana is changing its membership rates.

Some memberships will be lowered by 15% and a new 2-adult membership category is being added.

Member discounts will be increased up to 50% for youth sports, aquatics, wellness and enrichment programs.

The YMCA also says it will use a higher percentage of its financial assistance resources to help households with children.

"We see firsthand the impact a relationship with the YMCA can have on individuals and felt we needed to swing the doors of the Y open wider to impact more individuals and families," said Derrick Stewart, YMCA CEO.
