HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - After months of meetings and public input, Henderson leaders hinted at some ideas for a 10 year plan to revitalize the area.
Some of ideas in the 10-year plan include a new sports complex, upgraded transportation and technology, and a revamped riverfront. Those were announced at the Rotary Club on Thursday.
Community leaders will now discuss these ideas and build comprehensive plan by next month. That plan will be brought to the public for their input in the Spring. The city has hired TSW Design Group to write up the plans.
A Henderson resident has mixed feelings on the visioning process so far.
"It will not only beautify, but it's also very intriguing. It will allure people to want to come downtown. But on the negative side, I could see it being too congested," said Leatrice Holmes.
No budget for the 10 year plan has been set in stone just yet.
The city and county are looking at grant funds and contributions from local organizations.
