Petersburg mayor stepping down

PETERSBURG, IN (WFIE) - The mayor of Petersburg tells us he is stepping down at the end of the year.

Elected in 2013, Frank Coleman says he plans on taking a year off to decide what he will do next.

Coleman is a retired Indiana State Trooper.

Republican Party officials say they will hold a caucus on Saturday morning to determine who the new mayor will be.

Party officials say the only person to apply for the job is Robert Klipsch.

Klipsch works in the mayor's office and worked there for the previous mayor as well.
