HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) - Earlier this summer, the Hopkins County Board of Education created a "Director of Human Relations" position, but the job title soon changed, causing ripples.
The board posted the position and started interviewing people for the job, but then say, financial cuts forced them to downgrade the position from director to coordinator.
Several people at tonight's board of education meeting voiced their frustrations - not just at the loss of the "director" title, but the addition of job responsibilities and the lack of minorities being hired for high positions in the district.
The board listened to their concerns, but didn't take any action. Right now, they're still taking applications for the position and plan to establish an interview committee soon.
