FORT WAYNE, IN (AP)
Authorities say a Fort Wayne man has died after driving the wrong way on Interstate 69 and colliding head-on with a semitrailer tractor.
The Allen County Sheriff's Department says the crash occurred Sunday morning in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Fort Wayne. The 23-year-old driver of a northbound SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A 28-year-old Grand Rapids, Michigan, man driving the tractor was transported to a hospital in fair condition.
Neither man's name was immediately released.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of the interstate for more than five hours.
