Local girl baking to raise money for cancer research

In Daviess County, a 10-year-old girl is baking cookies to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Several of Alexis Thompson's family members have died from cancer. After donating to St. Jude for a few years, she wanted to get the community involved. Alexis is taking orders by email and baking cookies until March. The cookies are a five dollar minimum donation for a dozen. Thompson says her projects motto is, "I can make a change in someone's life and so can you." Thompson's family will deliver cookies to people living in Daviess County and near the McLean County border. To order and/or ask questions you can email Connie Thompson at connie2776@bellsouth.net
