EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - One of the top players in the Indianapolis area has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Evansville men's basketball team next season as Harris Brown officially signed with the school Friday.
The high-scoring guard is coming off of a junior campaign at Howe where he averaged 27 points per game while scoring 50 and 51 in consecutive outings.
"Harris is an explosive scorer that we are excited to add to our roster," UE head coach Marty Simmons said. "He can score with the ball in his hands or he can also score cutting off screens. He brings us great versatility as a combo guard."
"He has such a competitive nature and just wants to win. We know he will be a great fit with the guys we have coming back."
Earlier this month, Brown was named to the Preseason First Team by the Indianapolis Boys City Coaches Association as one of the top players in the city.
Brown's versatility was shown in a December win last season where he fell just one assist shy of a quadruple double. He scored 50 points while recording 12 steals, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
