EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville woman, accused of hiring her daughter's boyfriend to kill her estranged husband, has pleaded guilty to murder.
47-year-old Brenda Dossett was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in prison.
By pleading guilty, Dossett avoided the possibility of life without parole if she had been convicted.
Police say Dossett offered to buy a car for 19-year-old Mason Hughes in exchange for killing her estranged husband, Gilbert.
According to authorities, Brenda Dossett wanted the $42,000 payout from the victim's insurance policy.
