Republicans to control U.S. Senate
Republicans have seized control of the Senate and strengthened their hold on the House in a wave of Election Day victories. Republicans picked up Senate seats in seven states. And Republicans are on track in the House to meet or exceed the 246 seats they held during President Harry Truman's administration more than 60 years ago.
McConnell wins big
Republican Senator Mitch McConnell has fought off a fierce challenge from Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, winning a sixth term and the chance to become the second Senate majority leader from Kentucky.
Dave Wedding, who filled out the remainder of Eric Williams' term, wins the race for Vanderburgh County Sheriff. He'll be live in studio to talk about his plans for the office.
Winners and losers
We'll have results of all the races around the tri-state on Sunrise this morning. They'll also be crawling on the bottom of the screen, and available at 14news.com
Temps are fairly mild this morning, but there is some dense fog in the area. Byron will be tracking that and has the rest of the forecast as we move toward the end of the week.
So, enjoy your day, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
