OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Owensboro Health has a new way of detecting breast cancer.
The new 3D Mammography is being used by doctors to find smaller tumors that can go undetected in a 2D machine.
The machines cost about $400,000
Owensboro Health officials say the new technology will be extremely beneficial to patients.
"it also catches more breast cancer," said John Mulligan, MD. "Cancer that we were missing before, we're now able to see."
Right now they have two machines.
They plan on purchasing another one to put at the Owensboro Health Park.
