EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - It should be an exciting Halloween night on the local football fields as sectional action continues.
Teams are all dressed up with places to go, and Aaron Hancock has a preview of some galloping ghosts, the Touchdown Live crew will be covering Friday night.
At Central Stadium, the Bears will host Jasper. Since these 2 have been in the local 4-A sectional together, they've met 8 times, with Jasper winning 7 of them. As usual, the Wildcats come in with a lot of talent, and it starts with 4-year starting quarterback, Nolan Ahrens. Head coach Tony Ahrens' son brings a strong arm to the table, and he loves to throw to his big tight end, Austin Alles. On the other side, Central loves to run the football with tailback, Isaiah Kemper, but the Bears will also have to air it out, to keep that stout Jasper d-line honest. Our game of the week is in 2-A, as Mater Dei plays at Southridge. They've met 6 of the last 7 years in the postseason, and only one of those times was in Evansville, but it's always a good game when these two meet. The Raiders have been playing well, despite losing star tailback Connor Craig to an ACL tear, but because of that, one would think the Wildcats would be favored this time around, with the dangerous Julian Weidner and an improving aerial attack. But, as history as shown, it's always unpredictable, when these 2 play up in Huntingburg.
So we'll have highlights of these games, plus many more from around the tri-state, Friday night on Touchdown Live at 10:15 p.m.
