EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - This is the last week of collection for the 7th Annual Totes of Hope program.
Totes of Hope provides personal care items and other essentials to homeless and low-income veterans throughout the Tri-State.
This year, they've upped the ante, increasing their totes goal from 400 to 450.
They're close to fulfilling that goal, but are short some items.
For every bag to be full of the essentials, they specifically need more people to donate socks, gloves, shampoo, deodorant, moisturizer, combs, razors and shaving cream.
They also welcome donation of any of these other items:
- baby wipes
- hand sanitizer
- bars of soap
- soap container
- rain poncho
- plastic spoons
- toothbrush and toothpaste
- toothbrush holder
- decks of cards
- plastic comb
- stocking caps/winter hats (adult size)
- pop top canned goods
To drop off donations, visit the Red Cross Stockwell location at 29 N Stockwell Road or the Veteran's Affairs offices at the University of Evansville and University of Southern Indiana.
They are also accepting monetary donations, in the form of cash or checks.
