10 digital dialing date set

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Starting February 7, 2015, you'll have to dial 10 digits every time you want to make a call in southern Indiana.

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved the date this week.

It's meant to get people in the habit of dialing 10 digits before the new 930 area code becomes active one month later on March 7.

The change was supposed to take effect back in September but businesses said they weren't ready and need more time.
