Report: Evansville's Mead Johnson Nutrition a takeover target

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Mead Johnson Nutrition Group, which has its global operations center in Evansville, may be the target of a takeover.

According to a report by Reuters, French food giant Danone, which makes Activia yogurt and Evian water, wants to acquire MJN.

Mead Johnson has been headquartered in Evansville since 1921.

Today the company employs nearly 1,000 people.

In 2010, the Mead Johnson Pediatric Nutrition Institute and new powder processing center were dedicated for a combined investment of $60 million.
