OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - If you have loose yard waste in Owensboro and want it picked up, now is your last chance.
The Owensboro Sanitation Department is converting its equipment and soon won't be able to collect yard waste that isn't bagged for collection.
The final opportunity to have loose limbs and brush collected will be on your last scheduled trash collection day this week.
Crews will collect items that are 6 inches in diameter or smaller. Remember to bag loose material such as garden cuttings and trimmings.
They must be put out by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day.
Crews will not collect root balls, dirt or contractor cuttings.
Leaf season will begin in Zone 2 on Tuesday, October 21.
If you don't know what leaf zone you're in or want more information about collection,
Yard waste items that are bagged and placed curbside will be picked up throughout leaf collection season.
