DUBOIS CO., IN (WFIE) - A driver is facing charges after nearly hitting a Dubois County sheriff's deputy head-on.

It started around 9:30 Sunday night when Huntingburg police were called out to hit and run at 5th and Washington.

A Dubois County sheriff's deputy later noticed a pickup truck with the same description traveling left of center.  The pickup almost hit the deputy's vehicle head-on.

The deputy was able to stop the driver, Teodoro Vazquez Moreno, who said didn't have a valid driver's license.

Authorities say Moreno's blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.

He was charged with OWI, operating a vehicle without ever having a license, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Moreno is in the Dubois County Jail.
