Indiana State Excise Police officer arrested for OWI

FISHERS, IN (WFIE) - An Indiana State Excise Police officer has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated .

Master Officer Brett Brandenburg of Indianapolis was stopped in Fishers early Saturday morning.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says Brandenburg was off duty and driving his police vehicle.

A breath test indicated Brandenburg's blood alcohol content was .156%.

He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15% or greater.

Officer Brandenburg has been assigned to administrative duty pending the outcome of an internalinvestigatingn.
