Evansville man arrested after leading police on chase

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man is in jail following a chase. According to police, it started around 11:00 Tuesday night at Bellemeade and Evans when officers tried to stop a driver.

Police say he took off, but they caught up with him at Gum and Elliott Street where he refused to pull over and led officers on a chase.

The driver then ran light at Washington and hit a house on Madison and Garvin

52-year-old Donald Craig got out the car and ran from police.

When they caught up to him, Craig was tased twice. He was able to grab the weapon before he was subdued.

Craig was taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of minor injures.

Charges against Craig include battery, resisting and disarming an officer, reckless driving, hit and run and DUI.
