6th Annual Totes of Hope campaign

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Vectren volunteers, the American Red Cross, and the Evansville Icemen have partnered up to give back to local veterans.

From now until November 5, local residents can drop off a variety of personal items at the American Red Cross on Stockwell Road.

All donations will go to local veterans who are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless.

Those items include toothbrushes, socks, gloves, razors, shampoo, and even something fun like a deck of cards.

"These are the things we all take granted for granted, each and everyday, and yet we have veterans who don't have the basic necessities and just so be able to give back it says a lot for this community" says Amy Canterbury, American Red Cross.

Their goal is to reach $450 in donations, beating last years total of $400.

You can always help by donating cash to the American Red Cross.

They're also looking for volunteers or teams to help deliver the totes to the homeless shelters and the veterans center.
