MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) - Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Deputies arrest two men after trying to serve a warrant on one of them.

Deputies went to a home at 1669 Fairview Road in Central City on Wednesday for a probation violation warrant on Michael Baxter.

They say when they got to the home, they found Baxter in the driveway holding a small child.

He put the child down, and despite giving him orders to stop, deputies say Baxter attempted to escape. He was arrested after a short chase.

Deputies say Baxter had five small bags of meth on him, another bag with Oxycodone pills and cash.

He's charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, wanton endangerment, and fleeing or evading police among other charges.

Baxter's brother, Patrick, was also at the home and had outstanding warrants.

Deputies say Patrick attempted to escape but was arrested.  They say they found meth and drug paraphernalia on him.

Patrick Baxter is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, fleeing or evading police, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Michael and Patrick Baxter are both behind bars at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
