Owensboro business excited for downtown air show

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - The Owensboro Air show is just days away and one downtown businesses is excited for the big crowds.

Fetta Specialty Pizza and Spirits says they are getting ready for the big event.

The crowds from last year's air show caused business at Fetta to take off. Managing partner Tim Turner says he didn't have an empty seat all day long and the walk up window was always busy.

This weekend, Turner says it's all hands on deck.

The restaurant is preparing a special menu to handle the crowd, stocking up on more ingredients, and setting up a tent to handle the walk up business. Turner says the air show is great exposure for every business downtown.

The city says the public is invited out to the Owensboro Daviess County Regional airport on October third to see the planes up close and meet some of the performers.

There will be a small air show at the airport at dusk and a 5K race on the airport runway.

The big air show will take place on October 4th at one o'clock over the Ohio River.
