School garden receives recognition

Beaver Dam Elementary is the first school in Kentucky to be named a ready, set grow school. The school started a garden project several years ago when kindergarten students wanted to feed the birds. Now thanks to donations the children are growing flowers and vegetables. Agriculture Commissioner James Comer stopped by the school to make the announcement. Perdue Farms was also at the event and donated 5 thousand dollars to the garden project.
