EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Cleanup is underway on several garages and buildings hit by vandals over the weekend in Evansville.

People who live in the area of southeast First Street tell is graffiti is an ongoing problem.

The First Presbyterian Church wasn't hit this time but church officials tell us they have spent lots of money to paint over graffiti on their historic building.

"Well it's frustrating. You get the problem solved and then a week later you're right back to it. That costs us money, which is fine, but it's money that could be used helping people that are hungry, helping people that are homeless, helping people that need additional help. And we have to spend it on paint and cleanup," says Kevin Fleming, Pastor.

First Presbyterian says they're looking into adding more lighting around the building to help keep vandals away.
