EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Progress is being made on revitalizing Haynie's Corner in Evansville.
Plans are being moving forward to redevelop the Maybelle and Montrose apartment buildings on Second Street into condos.
The Haynie's Corner Advisory Committee says it is going to be a $1M investment.
The units should be ready for leasing next May.
"Since this was established as an arts district in October of 2006, we've come such a long way, we're seeing private investment, we're seeing commercial investment, interest in residential properties, and its really all coming together," said Ken Haynie, Committee President.
Also discussed during the committee meeting Thursday was the future of the River House.
CAPE is using tax credits to buy the vacant property.
It will be turned into low income senior housing.
