Jasper to begin flushing out water system

JASPER, IN (WFIE) -

The City of Jasper Water Utility has received authorization from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to begin flushing out the water system.

The process will take several hours and people should expect to see water coming out of fire hydrants throughout the city.

Officials say this is an indication that the quality of the city's water supply is significantly improving, but the boil advisory remains in effect.

Again, water customers are still being told to boil water to be used for drinking, cooking and washing dishes.
