The Indiana State University Police Department issued a campus alert Thursday afternoon after a note was found in a men's bathroom that said, "Start shooting at 1:15 be ready. Jihad."

Police say it was likely a hoax but urged that proper precautions be taken.

Earlier in the day, an alert was issued after a student reported seeing an anonymous threat online.

Police say the student was on the ISU blog of the "Yik Yak" app when she saw the message which read,  "I wonder if this school shooting is going to go as planned tomorrow."

The student who reported the possible threat responded to the post, saying, "That's not funny, man, I should report this!"  The post was taken down shortly afterward.

ISU Police say the post may be a hoax and they have no corroborating information to support the threat.

However, the ISU Police Department says it is their policy to share any information when there may be a threat to the campus.

People are being asked to report any suspicious activity to the ISU Police at (812) 237-5555 or call 911.
