In Kentucky, look out for volunteers picking up trash on the road for Fall Sweep Week.

About 700 groups participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program which the transportation cabinet started in 1988.

These folks clean nearly 4,800 miles of roadside every year.

The program raised awareness about the environment and makes it easier to promote tourism.

It also creates a partnership between citizens, community and government.

You can learn more about becoming a member of the Adopt-A-Highway program at this link.

In Vanderburgh County, part of Kansas Road is shut down for several more weeks for repairs.

The work zone is from Baldwin Drive and Green River Road as well as Wynnfield Drive to Green River Road.

This is a part of the county's reconstruction of Green River between Millersburg and Kansas.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time or find another route.

There are marked detours.
