Newburgh cafe fighting childhood cancer this weekend

NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE) -

Generally, food is the name of the game at a restaurant in Newburgh.

But on Saturday, it's all about childhood cancer research.

They're trying to push as many people through the doors at Rose Hill Cafe on Rose Hill Road because 10% of all sales will benefit Curesearch for Childhood Cancer.

Musician Paul Blake will be performing, and there will be bracelets, car magnets and chocolates for sale.

If you're feeling brave, you can take your turn "whipping childhood cancer" by getting a whip-cream pie to the face and donating $7.00 to the charity in honor of the seven children who die from cancer every day.

Doors open at 6:00 a.m. and don't close until 10:00 p.m.

Beer and wine will be served after 2:00 p.m.

Before Honor Flight 7 takes off, there's a lot of prep work to do.. "Once you get a stack..the chairs are along here..like i said, we're kinda doing it different." It takes a small army to get the prep work done before each Honor Flight.. "It's been pretty busy since we got here.." says Honor Flight volunteer, Jack Schenekau. One of the important tasks includes sorting the hundreds of letters that come in to thank these brave men and women for their service..&n...
