Your Daily Drive for Friday, September 5

In Henderson County, ramps at the Pennyrile Parkway/KY 416/Exit 68 Interchange will be closed Friday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is to allow new asphalt to be placed on the widened ramps. The detour is Kentucky 425 and Kentucky 56 to access U.S. 41 to connect with Kentucky 416. If it rains, the closure will also take place on Monday.

In Owensboro, Breckenridge Street is shut down to all northbound traffic at Old Hartford Road. This is for the Harsh Ditch 2-A project. This closure will last for more than a month. There is a marked detour.

The Blue Bridge in Owensboro will be shut down to traffic Saturday. The bridge will be used by walkers, runners and cyclists from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the Bridge Day event.

Paving is underway on a section of U.S. 60 in Union County. The work zone is from Kentucky 270 to the Eagle Creek Bridge. The contractor for the transportation cabinet is restricting activity to reduce disruptions to school traffic. Work could continue into next week.

Inspectors will be out on the Bob Cummings-Lincoln Trail Bridge between Cannelton and Hawesville Friday. There will be lane restrictions starting at 8:30 a.m. and lasting for about two hours.

In an attempt to reduce crashes INDOT has changed the left-turn signals at the Diamond Avenue and St. Joe intersection in Evansville. Traffic will now only be able to make protected left turns onto St. Joe during a green arrow signal. INDOT is asking drivers to watch for others as they adjust to the new traffic pattern.

What better way to kick off the spring than with a free lunch?  God's Grill is a group of volunteers that fires up a grill in different parts of Evansville and makes meals for the hungry.  The group is made up of people from several churches in town. They've expanded to Henderson, Madisonville, and they are now in Owensboro.  They also have a new logo.  God's grill usually meets one Saturday every month. Copyright 2017 WFIE.
