VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Hoof and A Prayer Horse rescue in Vanderburgh County just took in two neglected horses from Pike County.

This means the rescue has taken in four neglected horses in about a month's time.

The rescue says both are in pretty bad shape. The two horses, named Kahuna and Stevie, are both extremely underweight, and one is almost completely blind.

The rescue says they're not set up to take care of a blind horse, so they're asking the community to consider giving them a home. They're not charging an adoption fee, but do say they prefer the horses go together.

Just a few weeks ago, the rescue took in two Posey County horses, Whisper and Scarlet. They had been so neglected, the rescue wasn't sure they were going to survive.

However, we've learned both horses are doing well. They've gained weight and are both improving every day.

The rescue says they do need donations to help take care of Whisper and Scarlet. For details on what they need, visit their Facebook page. To make a monetary donation, click here.

For anyone interested in potentially adopting Kahuna and Stevie, the rescue will be open this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
