Monday was the end of the racing season at Ellis Park.
Officials are calling this racing year a "two-part season," saying earlier in the year they had great weather that brought in a lot of people, but the last few weeks took a turn with all the hot and humid temperatures.
This past weekend was no different with the weather putting a damper on racing plans.
"The closing weekend now, we've had no rain almost everyday we've taken races off the turf two days in a row," said Bob Jackson. "It just results in a lot of scratches and less opportunities to wager."
Despite the weather, Jackson says businesses is up 12% from last year.
They say a lot of that is thanks to their new instant racing machines.
