Moms are standing up for the right to choose the way they want to give birth.
Moms, dads, and children from the Tri-State came together at the Four Freedoms Monument on Monday during Evansville's first annual Rally to Improve Birth.
They were holding signs, hoping to spread the message about U.S. maternity care.
The rally coordinator told the gathering this is an important issue for the community.
"That's a really big problem we see a lot of times, is women being told they are not allowed to do something," said Hillary Melchiors. "You're the consumer. You're the one who dictates what you can and cannot do."
Melchiors says liability and profit are coming before women's rights.
She says the group's goal is to show Tri-State moms that support is here for them.
