LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. Weekend weather - It's going to be a wet Labor Day weekend across Kentuckiana. Stormy weather could begin as early as lunchtime today in some areas. Storm Tracking Team Meteorologist Lauren Jones has the forecast through Monday.

2. Toddler's shooting death - The organization Man-Up will hold a rally tonight at 7:00 to call for an end to violence in the wake of 16-month-old Neriah “NeNe” Miller's shooting death on Wednesday. Mayor Greg Fischer joined members of the little girl's family last night to urge the killer to come forward.

3. Cheerleader drug testing - Beginning today, University of Louisville cheerleaders will be subject to random drug tests just as student athletes are. The move comes one day after a coroner's report revealed UofL cheerleader Dani Cogswell died in July of an overdose of heroin, amphetamines and Xanax.

4. IU student found dead - Authorities are investigating the death of an Indiana University student whose body was found last night at a sorority house on campus. The young woman's name and cause of death have not been revealed.

5. Mayor dies - A Nelson County community is mourning the loss of its mayor. Visitation for Bobby Johnson begins this afternoon. His funeral is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

6. Kahafer funeral - Clark County's interim sheriff will be laid to rest today. Chief Deputy John Kahafer died Monday night. His wife found him unresponsive in their home on Aug. 18, three weeks after he was placed in charge following the felony indictment of Sheriff Danny Rodden in a scandal involving a prostitute.

7. WorldFest - The 12th annual celebration of international culture begins at 11:00 this morning on the Belvedere. The family-friendly festival features music, food and crafts, and it expands to three days this year.

8. Zombie Walk - Beware of the undead tonight. The 10th annual Zombie Walk steps off at 8:30 p.m. at two different locations: Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway, where the event began in 2004, and Mid City Mall, where large groups and families should gather.

9. WKU football - The season opens tonight with new coach Jeff Brohm as the Hilltoppers host Bowling Green State University.

11. TDFN - Don't miss any of the varsity football action tonight. Touchdown Friday Night takes you to the hottest high school games in Kentuckiana during WAVE 3 News at 11.
