St. Mary's Health is hosting two driving classes for older adults.
The first class was Thursday at St. Mary's Women's and Children's Hospital.
The next class is Tuesday, September 23, from noon to 4 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 at St. Mary's Health.
The classes are part of the new AARP Smart Driver Program. Seniors are not required to drive or take tests. The classes are refresher courses.
Those who sign up for the class will learn how to adjust the way they drive factoring in age-related changes to vision, hearing and reaction time. There will also be information provided about aggressive drivers, defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, distracted driving and the latest safety technology.
Attendees may receive insurance discounts upon completing one of the four-hour courses.
The cost for AARP members is $15. Non-members will pay $20.
To sign up or learn more, contact Mary Raley, BSN, RN at (812) 485-6827.
