LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man convicted of killing a University of Kentucky football player 20 years ago is facing more legal trouble, this time for domestic issues.

A judge has granted an emergency protective order to a Spencer County man claiming convicted killer Shane Ragland punched and hit his children.

Court documents allege it all stemmed from an Aug. 17 incident in Jefferson County when Ragland hit his girlfriend - the children's mother - in the face.

A judge ordered Ragland to stay at least 500 feet away from the kids at all times.

In 2007 Ragland entered a guilty plea to the 1994 killing of Trent Digiuro.
