Congressman Ed Whitfield will make several stops in the Tri-State Tuesday.
Whitfield, who represents the 1st District of Kentucky, will be in Henderson and Madisonville.
His first public appearance is at 8:30 a.m. in Madisonville. He'll be presenting a $1 million FEMA grant check to the Madisonville Fire Department.
From there, Congressman Whitfield will travel to Henderson where he will eat lunch and tour the Audubon State Park Wetlands Project.
At 2:15 p.m. Whitfield is scheduled to visit the home of a young boy in Henderson with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The boy's bedroom was renovated by a volunteer group of community leaders that Whitfield will recognize.
Later Tuesday afternoon the congressman will be at the retirement reception for John Peters. Peters is the Director of Development and Gifts at Madisonville Community College.
Whitfield's final public appearance Tuesday is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. in Madisonville. He'll be making a presentation to World War II veteran Ivan Russell at the Genealogical Society meeting. That meeting is happening at the Old Train Depot behind City Hall.
