Your Daily Drive for Thursday, August 14

There's a lane shift for southbound traffic on the twin bridges in Henderson. It's happening between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Drivers will move to the right lane because of an ongoing inspection. The lane restrictions may continue Monday and Tuesday. The northbound bridge inspection was completed last week.

An Evansville intersection is closed and may reopen Thursday evening. The water department says a valve broke at Washington and South Kentucky Tuesday night. When workers were repairing it Wednesday, another valve broke. The area is expected to be shut down until repairs are made.

Crews are doing base repairs and asphalt paving in Webster County. The work zone along US 41-Alternate is from the Vanderburg-Lisman Road and Lisman-Mount Myra Road intersection to the Marion Towne Road intersection. The work zone along KY 2087, or Clayton Avenue, is from Kentucky 132 to U.S. 41-A. This project is expected to last up to four weeks.

Police are conducting traffic safety checkpoints throughout the city of Greenville in Muhlenberg County. Officers are looking for impaired drivers as well as other traffic violations. Drivers are reminded to obey traffic laws, wear seatbelts and restrain kids in booster seats and child restraints.
