WAVE 3 News adds University of Louisville coaches programs

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - WAVE 3 News has been granted exclusive rights to produce and broadcast the University of Louisville Coaches programs for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. 

“Inside the Cards” with Coaches Bobby Petrino and Rick Pitino will be broadcast each Sunday at noon on WAVE 3 News, with special airings on Saturday, September 13 at 11:30 a.m., preceding the live telecast on WAVE of the University of Louisville at Virginia football game, and Sunday, September 28 at 1 p.m., following Ryder cup coverage on WAVE.

WAVE 3 News Sports Director Kent Taylor, honored this year as the Kentucky Sportscaster of The Year by the National Sportscasters and Sports Writers Association, will host the programs. The first program will air August 31, the day before Louisville kicks off the season at home against Miami. 

“We appreciate the opportunity to showcase these coaches and teams in a special way for fans in the inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Ken Selvaggi, WAVE 3 News vice president and general manager, said. “It will be a great partnership with the University of Louisville.”

WAVE 3 News airs more than 45 hours of news each week, including a live newscast weekdays from 7 to 8 a.m. on Bounce Louisville and This TV Louisville (WAVE 3.3 and 3.2 digital channels), and streams all newscasts live on www.wave3.com and the WAVE mobile apps. 

Other new programs on WAVE beginning September 8 include “Flip My Food” with Chef Jeff Henderson, “Fix It & Finish It” with Antonio Sabato Jr., and The Meredith Vieira Show (all air 2-4 p.m. weekdays).

WAVE 3 News was the first television station in Kentucky and has served Kentucky and Indiana viewers for 66 years.
