3rd suspect charged in Middletown Dairy Queen robbery

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man arrested with a suspect charged in string of armed robberies at fast food restaurants has himself been charged with committing one of the holdups.

Kelly Lamonte Stepp, 18, of Louisville, was taken into custody on Aug. 4 during a traffic stop on Breckenridge Lane in Hikes Point. Louisville Metro Police say Stepp was one of the men who forced their way into the Middletown Dairy Queen at 11806 Shelbyville Road on July 16 and robbed the business of cash. During the robbery a shot was fired into the ceiling of the restaurant.

Also facing charges in the Dairy Queen robbery are Tyler LeeDean Carter, 18, of Mt. Washington and Brandon Duwone Harvey, 18, of Louisville. They were also arrested Aug. 4.

In the car with Stepp was Dewayne Mitchell, 20, of Louisville. Mitchell is charged with the July 28 robbery of a McDonald's at Preston Highway and Indian Trial. A third man in the car, Cedric Eugene Williams, 22, of Louisville, was arrested on an outstanding warrant related to a street robbery.
