LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man who fired at officers multiple times during a SWAT situation in Okolona Wednesday was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, according to Louisville Metro police.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, said Dennis Hill Jr., 30, was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and two counts of attempted murder of an officer following the situation in the 8500 block of Claudia Drive.

According to Hill's arrest report, officers responded to the address on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they saw Hill near the front door with what appeared to be an assault rifle.

After police established a perimeter, the report says, Hill fired shots at two police officers.

After he was arrested, police said, Hill waived his Miranda rights and admitted shooting at police.
