Staff at Holy Name school in Henderson giving back

HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) -

The staff at Holy Name school in Henderson are working during their summer break to give back to the community.  The effort is called, "We're on a mission".

On Monday, more than 30 staffers were volunteering at local not-for-profits.

At Riverview School, the volunteers read books to the children and helped with the babies in the nursery.

"We want to show our students what it means to be a citizen of the world and of the larger community, to be thinking of others, what do they need? How can I serve others and be a leader in serving others," said Kamille Stitch, Director, Holy Name School.

Holy Name's students will also be asked to take on the missions of faith and academics during this school year.
