Woman charged with forging stolen check

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman has been charged with stealing a check, then forged the signature of her victim so it could be cashed.

An arrest warrant charges Lindsey D. Clark, 22, of Fairdale, stole the check on Feb. 5. After writing the check for $60 made payable to a third person, Clark is accused of forging the signature of the man she stole it from.

Clark was arrested Aug. 3 on charges of forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument. The unnamed co-defendant has also been arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Louisville Metro Corrections records show Clark is also being held on eight outstanding bench warrants, four counts of probation violation, three counts of complicity to burglary and one count of complicity to robbery.
